Katy Perry is reportedly looking for $ 5 million in compensation after scoring a bigger victory in the legal match against entrepreneur Carl Westcott.

As per the latest report on People MagazineThe former girlfriend of Orlando Bloom, appeared in court on August 26 to testify in the ongoing legal dispute around her $ 15 million Montecito, California, mansion.

Outlet reported Katy Perry joined Los Angeles Court Proceedings via Zoom and answered questions about the purchase in 2020 in the 1930s California Estate.

For those who were not aware of, Perry and ex Orlando Bloom bought the property from entrepreneur Carl Westcott, who is also the founder of 1-800 flowers.

Later, Westcott was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease in 2015, which is why he tried to cancel the contract and claimed he “lacked capacity” to sign the transaction.

He also filed a lawsuit against Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudvi, in August 2020.

After a long -standing legal battle, Perry prevailed by a prior law on the issue of responsibility, and in May 2024 she was officially owned by Santa Barbara County property through her LLC, Ddoveb, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The judge submitted that Westcott provided “no compelling proof that he lacked the capacity to enter into a property contract”, and noted that he seemed “coherent, engaged, clear and rational” when signing.

The case has since been bifurcated, with Perry now looking for over $ 5 million in compensation, including $ 3 million to cover the loss of rental income.
