Govt Forms Panel to help Missing People’s Families

Islamabad:

The federal government has constituted a special committee to provide legal aid to tackle the questions of families of missing persons whose cases are under investigation into the Investigative Commission on enforced disappearance, in family law related questions.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the families of missing persons who have such a problem, especially regarding Nadra regarding the issuance of CNIC/Form-B can submit their complaints, in writing, to the special committee through any form of communication, including e-mail ([email protected]) or whatsapp (0321-5101070), followed by

The families can also visit and meet Saadia Rashid, assistant registrar of the Investigative Commission on enforced disappearance, in the Directorate Civil Defense Building, Mauve Area, Sector G-9/1, Islamabad on any working day, for the submission and discussion on their such issues.

Recently, Supreme Court Judge at Har Minallah elaborated on the difficulties that the judges faced cases of missing persons and enforced the disappearance in the light of non-cooperation from the state and legislators.

By June 2025, Coioed had received a total of 10,592 cases, of which 1,914 were disposed of and 6,786 track, the Commission said.

Last year, the government announced an RS5 million “Support Package” per year. Family of missing persons who would give them legal and financial assistance under the Minister of Law.
