Florida State Stanner Alabama, Snapping Crimson Tide’s Seasonal Opener Running

The new Quarterback Tommy Castellanos led a punishing rushing attack for Florida State with 78 yards and a touchdown when Seminole’s stunned No. 8 Alabama 31-17 Saturday, ending Crimson Tide’s streak on 23 straight wins in season open.

Crimson Tide went into Saturday’s match with victories in each of his last 23 season openers. The Florida State ended the 2024 season with only two wins and was not -when its meeting with Alabama started. The loss in the early season is already in doubt.

Deboer fell to 6-4 against non-ranked teams in Alabama. Saban went 124-4 in such games.

Castellanos, a Boston College transfer, had 16 carrier, while no one else had more than seven rushing attempts at seminoles. He also completed 9 out of 14 passes in 152 yards when Florida State defeated his first ranked opponent since he knocked No. 19 Louisville in 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game.

Alabama seems to be rebounded next Saturday when the tide hosts Louisiana-Monroe. Florida State stays at home next week to meet East Texas A&M.
