James Gunn recently got what fans would expect in the last season of Peacemaker.
Speaking solely to PEOPLE on Peacemaker Season 2 premiere in New York City On August 13, James Gunn opened to bring back the fan favorite series.
The DC Studios Medor previously revealed in a side-plated X-post that some “mix” was “done” for a “different reasons” pushing Waller back and clearing the way for John Cena’s helmet anti-hero to take the center again.
Despite the challenges around Waller, Gunn and colleague DC head Peter Safran found firmer land in continued Christopher Smith’s history.
“This season dives deeper into Fredsmaker’s journey,” Gunn told the business at the event, adding that while Season 1 was about “coming to express” with the demons that shaped him, season two is about confronting them “head-on.”
Gunn also noted that weaving the character into the new DCU from the previous one DCEU It turned out to be surprisingly simple.
“All it took was a few smaller permutations,” he said with a laugh.
“And fine – we are in DCU, all good and dandy,” he concluded.
