Eizo has announced Coloredge CG3100X, a 30.5-inch DCI screen aimed at professionals working in editing and post production.
The company says its display comes with a five-year limited warranty, a commitment that separates it from other screens in the same class, which usually offers three or four years.
However, the warranty covers up to 30,000 hours of use, which, when it is spread over the five -year coverage period, works on about 6,000 hours of operation per year, or approx. 16 hours of operation a day.
HDR WORKFLOW SUPPORT AND CHARGE CONCECTION
The device has a 4K UHD resolution panel with factory calibration for accurate color rendering and supports standard professional workflows, including coverage of key color areas used in design, photography and video editing.
The highest brightness of the display of 500 CD/m² and contrast ratio of 1800: 1 is intended to meet HDR requirements and its ability to reproduce 97% Adobe RGB and 99% DCI-P3 coloring places suggest a strong potential for color critical tasks.
The Eizo Coloredge CG3100X is designed to handle modern HDR work by supporting both hybrid log gamma (HLG) and perceptual quantization (PQ) transfer functions.
These settings are intended to represent more how the human eye perceives the real world contrast compared to standard dynamic range.
For editors working with advanced productions, this can reduce the need for secondary reference control, even if they rely solely on a video editing or photo editing screen still has risks.
The model also integrates Eizos Colornavigator 7 software with an internal calibration sensor and removes the requirement for third-party tools, although professionals may prefer cross-validation to ensure consistency.
EIZO has equipped CG3100X with USB Type-C for video output, data transfer and laptop charging.
While this helps cut cable root and adding convenience, it is already a common feature of many advanced business screens.
The inclusion of a LAN port for direct network access can appeal to shared study setups, although this integration improves workflow efficiency depends on how production environments actually adopt it.
It also adopts LINK LINK (FRL), which is in line with the latest HDMI standards to improve the handling of uncompressed signals at higher resolutions.
The house in CG3100X is made with over 85% recycled plastic and packed with molded pulp rather than plastic in line with Eizo’s sustainability messages.
Its cooling system works quietly at 20 dB and supports long sessions without distraction.
On paper, the number of Eizo Coloredge CG3100X looks good, but they rarely tell the full story, and creators would like to assess real performance before replacing existing reference monitors.
