Sho Rao Ali escaped two motorcyclists in Multan on Wednesday after trying to cross a closed road despite restrictions introduced due to the flood threat. Citizens allegedly tried to move from Garewala Chowk to the opposite side and ignored security measures.
Police sealed Mohammad Wala Road overnight as rising waters from the Chenab River threatened the area. Commissioner of Multan Aamir Karim Khan confirmed that traffic at the head Muhammad Wala has already been suspended. He warned that authorities may be forced to break the head of security whose pressure continues to mount.
The great Chenab flood wave that is currently passing through the main trimmu is expected to reach Multan tonight, while the water level at the head Sidhnai rises rapidly and poses a threat to Pir Mahal and Khanewal.
