Somnia Mainnet goes live with native Somi -Token after 10b TestNet -Transactions

Somnia, a layer of 1 blockchain developed by UK-based Metaverse Technology Company unlikely, has gone live with its mainnet and introduced its original token, somi.

The rolling follows a six -month test network -phase, with the network treating more than 10 billion transactions, boarding 118 million unique drawing addresses and attracting over 70 ecosystempartners, according to a press release.

Somnia Foundation said the test network also saw the Somnia process 1.9 billion transactions in a single day, a record for an EVM compatible blockchain. Coindesk could not verify the claims because testnet Block Explorer was offline at the time of writing.

“During the test network we had users who used applications to test the network that a mainnet would be tested,” said Somnia -founder Paul Thomas in an E email. “So we never hit our maximum flow, but it was because it was real users who used applications. As the network grows its user and application base, we expect this to be scaled.”

Somnia has onboarded 60 validators including Google Cloud, which also validates a number of other blockchains, including Flare, Celo and Tezos.

The network claims to deliver flow of over one million transactions per year. Second with finality during second and low fees as it appears to be the most effective blockchain network for decentralized financing (Defi) and games.

At Mainnet -DeBut, the network is integrated with protocols and tools such as Layerzero, Sequence, Ankr, Dia and Thirdweb. Its original ecosystem includes games and social applications such as variance, Maelstrom and Sparkball.

Somi -Token will be used for transaction fees, validator rewards and governance.

“It is the first blockchain designed for speed, scale and responsiveness required to drive virtual experiences in real time, and sets the basis for an open digital active economy, where billions can actually interact, transaction and exchange value across immersive environments,” said Herman Narula, founder and CEO of Untold.
