The top judge warns against disrespectful court

Islamabad:

Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Khan Afridi Tuesday said there would be no easing and that no one would be allowed to respect the court.

He made these comments during the consultation of a case of failure to pay a fictional tenant. A bench with three members led by Chief Justice heard the case.

Chief Justice said “We won’t allow anyone to respect the court.”

During the hearing, the supreme judge advised the petitioner’s lawyer to withdraw the petition and added that “if they are pursuing this case there will be a problem.”

Chief Justice asked who was the petitioner and asked if she had arrived here. The petitioner’s lawyer replied that the petitioner lived abroad and added, “If you ask, I will call her.”

The top judge ordered the lawyer to submit the documents from his client, including identity cards and passports in writing. The petitioner’s lawyer said “I will submit all documents”. He asked the court to give a day’s time.

During the consultation, the actual owner of the parliament appeared in court and submitted to the Property Register.

Chief Justice asked the petitioner’s lawyer, “They say they live in this house, you say that the owner of the house is another; what is this; we will not allow anyone to respect the court.”

The petitioner’s lawyer said that a case should be filed against anyone who obeys the court’s orders.

Chief Justice noted, “We will see who the case should be filed.”

The Supreme Court reserved its decision, which indicated that an appropriate order would be adopted in this regard.
