AJ McCarron led Alabama Crimson time to back-to-back national championships in 2011 and 2012 and helped build the program back to his winning ways of head coach Nick Saban.
McCarron was as upset as any other Alabama fan who had to see Florida State Seminole’s running crimson tide on Saturday. In particular, the former quarterback was upset about how some of the team’s star players competed.

“There was no passion, there was no fight, no dog, and especially from the guys I thought were left who would show it,” he said at “The Dynasty” podcast. “Ryan Williams, Deontae Lawson – I didn’t see that fire. I thought Deontae Lawson would be an absolute dog. He wasn’t -existing in this game. I’m just about to be ahead and I love the baby.
“Hell, he is educated from the same school that my kids go to. I’ve seen him for a long time. I don’t know if he’s just slow to come back from ACL and I’ve had. And believe me, it’s not easy. Williams has been touted as the next major college football -wide recipient after he made a name for himself when he was only 17. He had five catches in 30 meters against Florida State and was put in a concussion protocol in the fourth quarter. He has not registered at least 60 meters that received since the team’s 24-17 loss to Tennessee on October 19, 2024.
Lawson is the veteran of Crimson Tide Defense. He had four tackles in the loss against Florida State. Last season he had 76 total tackles, two sacks and one eavesdropping.

The whole Crimson Tide program feels pressed. They have a good chance to jump back on Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe.
