Lahore:
An Electoral Court has rejected election assignments filed by PTI -Leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and his wife Qaisara Elahi against an ECP notification regarding victory on their nephew in election at a Punjab assembly.
The ECP had declared Chaudhry Salik Hussain the winning candidate at the PP-32 constituency in Gujrat. Elahi, whose wife is the sister of Chuadhry Shujaat, had challenged the results of PP-32 and nominated ECP and Salik as respondents in the case.
The petitioner had claimed that the ECP was wrongly releasing a victory message when the declared winner, according to Form-45, had actually ranked as third.
