Emma Heming Willis is aiming to setback over letting her ailing man, Bruce Willis, making films, while struggling with aphasi, a impairment of communication and processing language.
In March 2022, Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia and the family released a statement announcing he would stop working. Before the diagnosis, Die hard Actor had shopped with the help of an earpiece that fed him with his lines.
At that time, there was a setback over having let the actor work until then. Addressing it in a Vanity Fair Interview, Emma said, “When someone wants to work. How do you prevent someone from working?”
“He loved what he did,” she continued. “I’m glad he was able to do it as long as he was able to do so.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the author and model shared insight into the time Bruce began to suffer from frontotemporal dementia, which has now left the actor with memory, speech and understanding of weakening.
In the beginning, Emma noticed a shift in the behavior of the sixth Sense Star. For the unwarterized, the FTD often manifests itself as rude or insensitive behavior. Emma thought the marriage fell apart and she should get a divorce from the actor.
“I felt my marriage crumbled,” she shared.
The change in her husband’s attitude left Emma shocked. “What’s going on? This isn’t the person I got married to. Something’s just as off. And I just couldn’t figure it out,” she remembered.
Bruce thought there was nothing wrong with him and the author had to go over his head and directly consult his doctor, which is how they eventually got his diagnosis.
Bruce Willis and Emma Heming bound the knot in 2009 and share two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn Willis.
