The full synopsis reads: “Seen in 1993, alienated street fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back in battle when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World War Tournament: A Brutal Clash of Fists, Fate and Fate.

Even if you are a long -time fan we have no idea if this will be one of Best Video Film of the Worst Video Films … or do we?
OPINION: Fans think the Street Fighter movie has a ‘ridiculous strange’ role crew and I couldn’t agree more Agree
Secrets do not last long at the Arena – Street Fighter is now in production. In theaters 16 October 2026. Let the tournament begin! #Streetfightermovie pic.twitter.com/hhdkl39i5hSeptember 4, 2025
It only takes a short -term google or social media stalk to see people not best satisfied with Street Fighter The film’s official explosion on stage. The above cards are not the same as what we see in the games, some of the figures mentioned have sprung out of nowhere, and the general casting vibes are dramatically off.
“They used the wrong world map,” replied a fan of the news of X/Twitter, with another addition: “They are not even characterized as the characters, these are just normal photos of the actors.”
Over on Reddit, feedback is even more funny. “This is a ridiculous strange crew,” writes one fan, as another complainant: “Absolutely f ** king garbage.”
But it is my new best friend Theshadowwanderer who briefly summarizes how little Street Fighter has gone in its advantage. “I don’t doubt the role crew can deliver solid performances, but my biggest concerns are in the direction and the manuscript,” Redditor wrote. No actor can save a movie that is poorly written or poorly directed. Of course, people can enjoy parts of a defective movie, but at the end of the day a bad movie is still a bad movie.
“Given that this is another video-adjusting, the odds are statistically not in favor of what they really need to seam is the balance between the fake, over-the-top mood that Street Fighter is known for, and the serious moments that create a convincing film.”
I can almost hear Momoa rub the hands in joy after A Minecraft movie Made so much money, so what is a more video adjustment under his belt? There may be a universe where shopping with 50 cents makes sense, but unless recordings can prove to be a faithful, smart adaptation is in progress, I’m out.
