King Charles understands that much is at stake as he prepares to meet Prince Harry.
His Majesty, who is ready to meet his alienated son in September, knows the setup requires a lot from him at an emotional level.
Royal Biographer Tom Bower reveals: “Harry has a huge mountain to overcome.”
He adds: “On a human basis, he used to come very well with Charles, so especially from Harry’s perspective he needs reconciliation. But the time is not on their side.”
“There would be huge levels of emotions involved if they meet. Whatever Charles is facing, he would very much prefer to have a good relationship with his son, so I’m sure he wants reconciliation. But he has to remember he’s dealing with someone who could sabotage everything and bother him tremendously.”
“The fear of the trial was that Harry could invent something that the king said about the case – and that would cause a constitutional crisis,” Tom claims. “This fear has prevented any meeting so far, but even now the thing is over, fear is still back.”
