Conor McGregor is pushing for driving to president of Ireland, and apparently Elon Musk is behind him.

The UFC fighter wrote in March that he would drive to the office and asked people to sign a petition last month that would “ensure” that he is in the vote.

However, according to Irish News, the country’s prime minister, Simon Harris, has ordered his fine Gael Party Council leaders to block independent candidates like McGregor from being nominated.

McGregor published a petition online last month with reference to rules that “mandate that a candidate should secure nominations from either twenty members of Oireachtas or four county councils to be eligible for the vote.”

“This system, although intended to ensure a degree of political influence among candidates, inadvertently restricts the Irish voter’s direct voice,” McGregor said.

UFC The White House Plans revealed, including weighing on Lincoln Memorial: Report

“In light of this, I suggest that a petition that advocates a change in the nomination process to allow my name to be included on the ballot. I claim that the citizens of Ireland, both within the Inland process, authorize the population of Ireland to shape their own future.”

Multitime Champ has opposed a bill regarding the EU migration pact.

“Ireland must fully implement the EU migration pact by June 12, 2026. So between now and 12 June 2026, more legislation will be adopted by both houses in Oireachtas and then signed by the President … Who else will stand up to the government and oppose this bill? … I will!” McGregor wrote in March.

“It’s the people of Ireland’s election! Always! It’s a true democracy! .. This is the future of Ireland with me as president. All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice about their future! God bless our people. Vote McGregor and get your voice heard!”

McGregor criticized the Irish Government of the White House in an attempt to raise awareness of “the issues facing Ireland.”

Last September he teased a potential presidential driving in Ireland and called himself the “only logical election.” He officially announced his campaign shortly after visiting President Donald Trump in the White House.
