An online post claims that Asad Qaiser, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), said under a press speech that Supreme Court Judge At Har MINALLAH will join PTI and will be his party’s nominees for the Senate after the judge.
This claim is false. The politician did not give any such statement.
Assertion
On September 5, a user of X (formerly Twitter) shared a 40-second video of PTI leader Qaiser, who spoke in Islamabad.
The user caption on the video: “Justice At Har Minallah is a senior leader for our party. What at Har Minallah said was all delivered to party -founder Imran Khan of Aleema Khan. At has minallah will become our senator after retirement, ASAD Qaiser reveals.”
The clip has been viewed more than 39,000 times and relocated almost 500 times.
Fact
GEO FACT CHECK Through the entire press conference held by PTI on September 5 outside the main building of the National Assembly in Islamabad. No such statement was made by Qaiser on the Supreme Court Judge.
The only time he mentioned Justice Minallah was when he said:
“Yesterday, Justice At Har Minallah gave a speech in the Karachi bar, where he took a brave attitude and specifically declared that this hybrid system is another name for dictatorship. We support his attitude and hope that the judges of the Supreme Court and all the Supreme Court will stand with justice to have Minallah on this occasion.
Nowhere in his remarks, Qaiser said that Justice Minallah would become a senator after retirement or that he is part of PTI. Even the clip associated with the online post does not show Qaiser that makes the claim written in the caption.
Judgment The claim that Qaiser said Supreme Court’s Justice Minallah would join PTI and be nominated for the Senate after retirement is false. A review of Qaiser’s complete pressed talk shows, which he only referred to Justice Minallah’s speech at Karachi Bar and expressed support for his attitude.
