- Resistance ladder decoding for more natural, organic sound
- Excellent connection both in and out

If you would like your music to take you taller, Fiio has just the thing: a ladder. Its new K13 R2R DAC contains resistance ladder -decoding technology that promises to deliver a luxurious audio experience – and there is a porthole on top so you can look at the electronics when you enjoy their output.
The resistance ladder is a “carefully designed” series of resistors, as FIIO says, decodes sound with a more natural and organic sound, and it has been paired with the company’s proprietary error correction algorithm to deliver precise matching and linearity with ultra-low distortion. Fiio expects the result to combine sonic accuracy with warm and natural flow.
FIOI K13 R2R DAC: Key features and pricing
K13 R2R has an FPGA (field programmable Portarray) + DSP system that takes care of the digital signal treatment, oversampling and clock, and it supports PCM up to 1,536 kHz and DSD1024.
With 2,400 MW power, the K13 R2R can handle sensitive IEMs and full-running flat headphones, and there are selectable reinforcement levels capable of operating 600-OHM resistance headphones.
There are balanced XLR and 4.4 mm headphones, a single-end 6.35 mm headphone jack and balanced and single-circuit line-outs for active screens, making this a very flexible DAC actually. FIIO says it’s not only a DAC, but a platform: It has an XMOS XU316 USB receiver and has USB, Optical, CO-AX and I²’s input to provide very broad connection and compatibility.
The new FIOI K13 R2R will be sold this month, September 2025, with a RRP of $ 319 / £ 279 / € 319 (approx. AU $ 570).
