Pakistan condemns Israeli aggression against Qatar

Pakistan strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Qatar on Wednesday and called it a violation of sovereignty and international law.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said that the “provocative and reckless” action violated the UN Charter and established norms of intermediate relations.

The statement confirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the state of Qatar against what it called “unprovoked and illegal aggression.”

Previously, Israel launched an air strike in Doha, which was aimed at Hamas leaders who killed five members, including the son of senior dealer Khalil al-Hayya. Qatar said a security officer was also killed.

Israel said the attack was in response to a Hamas requirement shooting in Jerusalem leaving six deaths. Hamas confirmed that the top dealers survived.

The White House criticized Israel’s decision to strike inside Qatar, a key to the allies of the United States, although it called the targeting of Hamas a “worthy goal.” President Trump assured that Qatar would not repeat himself.

Qatar condemned the attack as a violation of sovereignty and promised to continue to convey Gaza weapons.

Britain, France, Germany and the EU condemned the attack and called them unacceptable and dangerous. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the attack as illegal and a threat to regional peace.
