- Nvidia’s rumor RTX 5000 Super GPU —launching is allegedly delayed
- CES 2026 now seems to be more likely for a reveal
- AMD could take advantage of this if it can push the rumor RX 9080 XT GPU out
Nvidia’s RTX 5000 series GPU -line -Up is set to receive a major update with rumor supermodels, and it thought these could be close to the horizon -but apparently it is not the case.
According to a reputable hardware leakage, Hongxing2020 on X, Nvidia’s RTX 5000 Super update is delayed. Although technical, they have not even been confirmed yet, talked about a ‘delay’ that presumably refers to the re -planning of launch time frames of Nvidia.
The rumors have floated around that Super Refreshes could launch for the 4th quarter of this year, but as Videocardz reports, according to graphics card manufacturers, the expectation of a CES 2026 revelation from Nvidia is reported.
In fact, it seems that a more realistic prospect of Nvidia may want to wait for a big event to show new RTX 5000 super graphics cards, rather than pushing them out at the end of 2025.
It is also worth noting that recent speculation from several sources has suggested that the prices for these Super GPU models could prove relatively reasonable and that these boards will contain more Vram. RTX 5080 Super could get a lift to 24 GB VRAM over the current model 16 GB, and RTX 5070 Ten Super can also run with 24 GB.
Analysis: AMD has a chance to capitalize here
If we take this rumor at face value and Nvidia has actually pushed back its launch plans here, this AMD gives more respiratory space for a potential launch of its rumor Radeon RX 9080 XT. It is allegedly set to be an advanced GPU that could compete with the RTX 5080.
In addition, Intel has another rumored more powerful GPU – ARC B770 – in the pipeline, with the packaging for the battlemage graphics card apparently in the works (which also reported by Videocardz).
Of course, all of these remain rumors, just like Nvidia’s super update itself. But if AMD has an RX 9080 XT GPU in the works, and Nvidia is now focused on launching its RTX 5000 Super Series in Q1 2026, I would love that Team Red will act between now and the end of 2025 with a reveal of a more powerful power generation graphics card. Ideally, AMD should not wait if it has a chance to overshadow its rival here.
However, A CES 2026 for the rumored RX 9080 X seems more likely. It is an ideal phase to reveal a new high-end GPU after all, and CEO Lisa SU is confirmed as giving AMD’s keynote speaker.
We can talk about launching all we want, but the real key to the success of these alleged GPUs will be pricing. We can hope that competition between these rumor launches could help keep price tags relatively competitive – but GPU inflation and real world pressure may give another story.
