Apple revealed three new Apple Watches along with four new iPhones and the next generation of AirPods Pro, at its 9th September dropping event, with the new wearables included a complete update of Apple’s Smartwatch -Lineup.
While the Apple Watch Series 11 was going to last a full day and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 gets satellite connection, Apple Watch see 3 (third generation) may just become the best Apple Watch for most people, especially if you want an Apple Watch for the basics and so some, but in addition, one that doesn’t break the bank.
Apple Watch SE 3 has not changed much in terms of appearance compared to the Apple Watch see 2; In fact, it’s basically identical. It comes either in a 40-millimeter or 44 millimeter size in Starlight or Midnight. It still has a recycled aluminum hull with a composite back and a full sensor stack on the back.

It addresses one of the big factors you had to consider when deciding whether to get a view or a headser. The third generation of SE now boasts an always-on-screen, which means the screen doesn’t turn off when your wrist is lowered or it is not in use. You can now look down to see your watch surface and easily control the time or even the complications you have set. It’s a really nice upgrade and one I had fun trying in my short practical time with Apple Watch on Entry-Level.
In addition to the always-on-screen, most of the other changes live under the hood, which is a common trend with the entire new Apple Watch lineup. Watch SE 3 is run by the same S10 processor as the series 11 and Ultra 3, which was debuted in last year’s series 10, and I found it was very snapped with just about any task. Apps opened quickly, the keyboard was responsive, and Watcho’s 26 felt quite fluid. The previous LTE modem has been swapped to 5G, just as in the series 11 and Ultra 3.
The S10 chip also allows some SIRI requests to be treated right on the device, which should speed up response times, and it also enables two movements: double tap and wrist flick. It is really close to function parity with the more expensive watches, and it also extends to quick charging.
You also get a boat fullness with health features on Apple Watch SE 3, including heart rate tracking, wrist temperature readings, thanks to a skin temperature sensor, sleep apnea detection, retrospective estimates and sleep tracking with the new sleep results. The only health function, SE, misses compared to series 11, and Ultra 3 is hypertension monitoring.
Apple has twisted most of its big watch features down and even the lovely ones to have for the third generation of SE, and it’s nice to see for an entry level Smartwatch for the masses. No, it doesn’t get the ultra-slim design of the series 11 with a screen sloping down the edges, or the adventurous features of Ultra 3, but there is a case that needs to be done to see doing an excellent job of balancing the features that most people want with affordable prices.
The sweetening of the agreement is also that Apple has not raised the price of see third generation starting at just $ 249 / £ 219 / AU $ 399 for the 40mm version. It makes it a convincing purchase, even for those with second generation SE: If you are in the UK it’s actually £ 30 Cheaper than see 2 was at the launch.
We have more thoughts when we can first test it, but let us know in the comments below what you think about Apple Watch see 3.
