Sophie Cunningham criticized Angel Reese for her comments about demanding better players if she were to continue playing with Chicago Sky.

The two-time all-Star expressed her frustrations over the franchise earlier this week and said she “might have to move in a different direction and do what is best for me” if the team does not improve its view.

“I am not content with the same s — we did this year,” Reese told Chicago Tribune. “We’ve got to get good players. We’ve got to get good players. It’s a non -negotiation for me.”

The sky suspended her in half because of comments considered “harmful to the team.” Team suspension came right after she was suspended for a game to receive her eighth technical mistake of the season.

“It’s not good. I get it when you lose and it’s been a frustrating season, everyone feels these feelings. I’m sure her teammates feel it, her coaches feel it, the organization, fans, everyone feels it,” Cunningham said at her “Show me something” podcast.

“There are just some things that you can’t say. One of my biggest things is that I’m a very team-first person. I always put the team before my feelings and I think it should be a standard. So you have to protect your closet. You can’t say everything you feel because it’s not a good look. And then your teammates feel a certain way that causes division into the closet.

“Protect your dressing room at all costs. I’m sure she’s sorry to say it, don’t misunderstand me, but there are some things that everyone probably knows you just can’t say. You can have them with the front office, you can have these conversations behind closed doors, but saying it in media is kind of brutal.”

Reese went back his comments after Wednesday’s win over Connecticut Sun and apologized for the team.

Reese average 14.7 points and a league-leading 12.6 rebounds, but the sky is 10-33, the second worst record in the association.
