- AMD CEO will deliver the company’s CES 2026 Keynote
- In the announcement of this, Team Red Red a tip that some revelations could be made about consumers’ GPUs and CPUs
- These can be simple teasers, or maybe we see a new top-end rdna 4 GPU
AMD could have a large GPU surprise up the sleeve of NVIDIA on the CES 2026 show next January, based on a tip dropped by CEO of Team Red.
This comes from the announcement that Lisa SU (spotted by tweak) is to deliver AMD’s keynote speaker on CES 2026, where CEO mentions that there will be revelations on the game front – and with Radeon and Ryzen products.
The press release talks about SU’s keynote speaker to a large extent, but also affects specific technological areas that suggest that this will be the focus of what AMD has planned for CES 2026.
The most important part of Blurb is the following: “From the management of AMD EPYC processors in the data center to the acceleration activated by AMD Instinct GPUs, and the progress driven by Ryzen CPUs and Radeon graphics in AI PCS and Gaming, AMD technology continues to promote innovation.”
This suggests that AI and EPYC (Server processors for data centers) will be the most important driving force for her presentation, but the hint is that SU will also talk about the consumer side of AMD’s products, with Ryzen CPUs and Radeon graphics mentioned specifically.
Analysis: Exciting options for peping up ces 2026
Okay, so finding out that AMD has concrete revelations to do with regard to Ryzen and Radeon, is a slightly exciting conclusion to draw, given – CEO could just talk in general about everything AMD does.
To me, however, this message suggests that something may come about both Next-Gen CPUs and GPUs from AMD. Remember, these kinds of statements are carefully designed and clues often fall to Stoke Hype well before an event starts, and I think this may be the case here, especially when we consider what AMD has in the works.
Namely new Zen 6 processors and RDNA 5 graphics cards are in pipeline. Taking AMD’s Desktop Ryzen CPUs first, considering that the next re-chips are not expected to debut until later in 2026, the very start of the year feels premature for a message-which will be more likely to be stored to Computex (in the middle of the year).
Similarly, the RDNA 5 GPUs (or they might be used) could be even further out, where the current theory is that they are set to a 2026 or 2027 launch.
So none of these next re -intervals are on the horizon, but it is still possible that we could some kind of early teaser for them.
Or on the graphics card front, there is another option: There have been some rumors flowing around that AMD may have something else planned in the way of a higher end RDNA 4 GPU.
Granted, there is not much room for maneuver in terms of stuffing something more powerful into the current range of Radeon graphics card-but rumor has sent the idea of a top-end RX 9080 XT, essentially criminal the power consumption and urban speeds to be an upgrade over the course of 9070 XT (which is about to make a more executing board).
Is it a realistic view? I’m not too safe, and rumors about this alleged supercharged takeover of RDNA 4 flagship have died too late. So take this view with lots of caution – but if AMD has something concrete for CES 2026 in terms of GPUs, this may fit.
Especially considering that Team Red may feel the need to put something to compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 5000 super updates – which is now being joined to debut on CES 2026, so the timing makes sense.
I am still skeptical of now, but the very mention of both CPUs and GPUs for consumer is certainly an indication that AMD wants something to say about new products in these categories comes CES 2026. And a head-to-head clash between RX 9080 XT and NVIDIA Super GPUs would be an interesting view, to say the least.
