New York – President Donald Trump arrived at Yankee Stadium Thursday and spoke with New York Yankees ahead of their 9/11 anniversary against the Detroit Tigers.
Trump landed in New York shortly after 7 p.m. 18, and a few hours earlier, Yankee’s manager Aaron Boone said Trump met with the team in the clubhouse before the game.
“Had honor and fortune for some presidents over the years, first places or whatever it may be. So the fact that he wants to be here, I’m excited to be a part of. I don’t know what it will be like, but interacting with him for a few minutes, something I look forward to,” Boone said.

On Thursday, the first time marked Trump participated in a Major League Baseball Game since the 2021 World Series between Houston Astros and Atlanta is bravening after his presidential term. Before Thursday, his final match was a sitting president of the World Series in 2019 between Astros and Washington Nationals.
Trump announced earlier this month he would join the game. Yankees announced it Wednesday and encouraged fans to arrive early and take public transport. Gates opened at 1 p.m. 16 one, 90 minutes earlier than usual.
Before Trump’s arrival, Yankee’s -the -results showed highlights of the World Series in 2001 between Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks won the series in seven games, but Yankees’ wins in games 4 and 5 both ended with dramatic walk-offs, less than two months after the 11th of September attacks.
Already guaranteed to have an increased presence, in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assault, security was increased throughout the ballpark with Secret Service and sniffing dogs outside the gates.
Boone, Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon made a wreath at the monument on September 11 in Monument Park earlier Thursday.
Next season, Yankees and the New York Mets are courageous at Yankee Stadium on the 25th anniversary of the attacks. They played at Citi Field on September 11, 2021.
