UK, Singapore is expanding help to flood victim

Islamabad:

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met on Friday with British High Commissioner of Pakistan, Jane Marriott, who conveyed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with Pakistan over the destruction caused by floods and the ongoing monsoon.

According to a foreign office statement, the High Commissioner said Britain expanded £ 3 million in relief and responses in coordination with the government of Pakistan and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)

She said that further humanitarian assistance would also follow. Dar appreciated the timely commitment and expressed gratitude for Britain’s understanding of the extent of destruction, need for needs and its solidarity in support of relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Meanwhile, Singapore announced humanitarian assistance to a value of $ 50,000 for the flood victims in Pakistan. According to its Foreign Ministry, the amount will be delivered as seed money to Singapore Red Cross (SRC) Fundraising campaign launched last week for flood relief.
