The theme really threw me today. For starters, I thought we were looking for something to do with winning or games, but after drawing an empty, I used my non-playing words to get a tip.
Fool made me think of the phrase “a fool and his money is slightly divorced”, so I still thought we were searching for words associated with money. Another tip gave me moon that confused me further.
Fortunately, I spied the excitement and slowly managed to make my way around the board, despite the only tarotcards I knew (the hanging man and death) did not do the clip.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
