It should be noted that Bengals, Lions, Ravens and Steelers did not hold moments of silence or reflection on Kirk’s behalf.

Steelers previously told Outkick that their tribute on Sunday would consist of lowering stadium flags to half staff.

Dolphins remember ‘victims of violence’

In Miami the moment happened of silence with both teams on the field. That was not the case on Lambeau Field on Thursday.

And the tribute to Kirk was combined to also honor the anniversary of the attacks on September 11 and other “victims of violence.” The tribute was met with cheer and after the silence sent with applause.

The same thing happened in Dallas, where Kirk’s image spans 160-foot with the 72-foot screen that hangs suspended 90 meters above the track.

In New York, Jets held a moment of silence and played a short video tribute to honor Kirk before the game before many fans had reached their seats.

Jets do honorable things

Tribute in New York is especially remarkable.

Unlike Miami, Nashville or Dallas, all of which are in red states, the larger New York area is a noted hotbed for conservative thinking. None of the states in the Tri-State area are red.

And yet in a game that was played in Meadowlands, before an audience who wasn’t quite sure to accept tribute, Jets moved on anyway.

It should be noted. And welcoming.

Because doing right is never wrong.
