FAZL warns of foreign plot to derail CPEC

Peshawar:

Jui-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has claimed that efforts are underway to stop China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project-to serve foreign interests. He has warned that the undermining of CPEC will mean to close all financial paths to Pakistan.

“International powers intervene in Pakistan’s politics, and CPEC’s route is prevented from serving foreign interests,” the Jui-F chief said on Sunday, spoken to his party’s provincial council in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial capital.

CPEC – consisting of a network of road and rail link – is part of China’s belt and road initiative, a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by Beijing in 2013.

With reference to previous complaints against Imran Khan’s government, he said the current administration had also failed to change the policy. He claimed that militants did not arrive spontaneously but were brought in and that foreign powers were deeply involved in Pakistan’s political affairs.

“These conditions are manufactured, not organic,” he said.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the country lacked peace and security and that ordinary life had become dangerous. “Today, it is considered to leave the house and return safely as luck. Hide murderers roam freely while the state appears to be powerless,” he said.

During his speech, FAZL described PTIS KP government as corrupt and corrupt. He said that those who condescending the provincial government are equally complicated to destroy the province.

He claimed that real governance did not exist in the province and that the poor governance was prevalent. Those who were imposed on the province, he said, were brought in by the establishment.

FAZL also accused state actors of admitting that some parties, including JUI-F, were deprived of their legitimate seats in the National Assembly and provincial legislators at the last election.

He claimed that the party had insisted that the province – as the owner of its mineral resources – and future generations must not be deprived of their rights to legislation.

He warned that if legislation is framed in a way that deprived local people of their rights, Jui-F would resist. He warned against attempts to introduce a miner and mineral bill in Balochistan and KP that would erode the rights of provinces under Article 73 of the 1973 Constitution.

Fazl said Jui-F stands by the Constitution and national survival.

“We are not supporters of gun policy. We stand by statements from all thinking schools. Our attitude is clear and firm – we are fighting for the struggle for the country’s survival and for supremacy of the law,” he said.

The provincial council meeting was also dealt with by provincial Ameer Maulana Ataur Rehman, provincial secretary general Maulana Ataul Haq, Mufti Nasir Mahmood and Engineer Ziaur Rehman. The Council approved to hold a conference for Mufti Mahmood in Di Khan on October 16.
