Captain among Five Soldiers Martyrated in Balochistan IED -Reat: ISPR

Five soldiers, including a captain, were martyrated when an improvised explosion device (IED) hit security forces during a sanitization operation in the Kech District in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said late Monday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), IED detonated on September 15, when troops moved to perform the operation in Sher Bandi, Kech. “As a result, five brave sons of the earth embraced martyrdom, including a captain,” the statement states.

In a follow -up, security forces killed five terrorists attached to the group ‘Fitna Al Hindustan’, described by the military as “an Indian proxy.” Sanitization operations in the surrounding area continued to clear remaining militants.

The martyrs included Captain Waqar Ahmed, 25, from Loralai; Naik Asmat Ullah, 35, from Dera Ghazi Khan; Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed, 29, from Sukkur; Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, 29, from Marran; and Sepoy Muhammad Zahoor, 28, from Swabi.

“The martyrdom of our brave officers and soldiers further strengthens our determination,” Ice’s said, adding that Pakistan’s security forces “in steps with the nation remain steadfast to eradicate terrorism from the country.”

Previously, one-year-old terrorists associated with the Indian sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij network were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations performed by security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on September 13 and 14.

According to ISPR, the first operation took place in Lakki Marwat district after reports of militant presence. “Our troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location, and after an intense exchange of fire, fourteen Indian sponsored militant neutralized,” the statement states.

In a separate operation in the Bannu district, seventeen several militants were killed under a firefighter with security forces.

“Sanitization operations are in the process of eliminating any remaining Indian sponsored Khwarij in the area,” added it, emphasizing that Pakistan’s forces are determined to “wipe out the threat of Indian sponsored terrorism from the country.”
