Special Assistant to Prime Minister at Blockchain and Crypto (SAPM), Bilal Bin Saqib, represented Pakistan at the recent Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, emphasizing how Pakistan cuts a significant global identity in the cryptocurrency space.
He emphasized that regulation would be the key to mainstream trial, where both regional and international experts recognize its progress.
“Each country must have a basic legislative regime through which it can contribute to exchanges, custody and stablecoins,” he said, describing such a framework as a “game election” in the global acceptance of Bitcoin.
Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, created earlier this year, has already placed the country as South Asia’s first independent crypto regulation – a development that is seen as an important to the digital financial sector.

While approaching the audience, Saqib called it a historic moment for the country. “This is something very close to my heart. Today is seen as a remarkable day when Pakistan is not seen through a lens of fear, but of opportunity and innovation,” he said.
He noted that Pakistan’s approach could guide other new economies. “It’s not just a new dawn for Pakistan, but for the whole world where Pakistan can become a case study for new markets.
We can help Morocco, Malaysia and all other new economies in how they adopt the digital asset frame, ”he added.
Saqib also posted on his X handle and currently called a turning point for Pakistan’s digital future. “Once misunderstood. Now unstoppable. BTC & Pakistan flips the manuscript.”

His leadership also pulled appreciation from the entire border. Indian cryptoin fluencer Bitcoin Wala praised his role and said, “We also need leaders like Bilal Bin Saqib in India.”
With Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, which is given traction, Pakistan is increasingly recognized as more than just a participant – it places itself as a potential model for digital innovation in the global south.
