- The game could be launched in 2026
The Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake could be one of the worst preserved secrets in games (after originally leaking years ago), and a new leak has made it sound more divisive than we might expect – if of course it is true.

The report comes from the French place Jeux Videowhich suggests that the game (which is expected to be launched in 2026), Jettison will be these elements and focus solely on Edward Kenway’s history in the piracy golden age.

While some suggest that modern continuity is now obliquely with the large volume of layers added in the years ago, others are concerned that the original loses some of its identity.
“I hope it is not true that they removed the modern sections,” commented a user.
“Without the modern story and old foreigners sci-fi things, modern AC games are just Witcher 3-clones with stealth mechanics.”
Another regretted cut by the modern history lines and said, “It is honestly one of my favorite parts, and derived from the previous games,” while adding their disappointment that it has been pushed to the background in Valhalla and Shadows.
Personally I will say Black flag Was the last game in the series where I could hand-in-heart saying that I followed and engaged in the modern plot, so while I value the concern, I’m hardly ruined by watching it go.
Still after (excessive) controversy around Assassin’s Creed Shadows (Which was excellent, by the way), it will undoubtedly feel like major changes in a beloved post like this will also make it divisive.
Jeux Video has also suggested that the game will have more systems in accordance with the recent RPG-tasted items in the series, such as Loot with statistics, and no loading screens as you move between your ship and country. The game is also the tip at the beginning of 2026, so we probably hear more very soon – if not from Ubisoft, then another is associated with the project.
Back in July, we reported that Matt Ryan, the actor, who voting the protagonist Edward Kenway, fell a pretty big tip about a new recording.
“Have you beaten the game?” Ryan asked a fan before adding, “Well, you may need to beat it again.” When the tab asked if they were to play the whole series, Ryan flashed and said, “Well, especially this one. There’s a reason I say it, but I can’t say anything.”
