On Monday, Kimmel accused the Conservatives of reaching “new low lower” in an attempt to establish a leftist ideology on 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson, though prosecutors confirmed these ties in Tuesday’s indictment.

“We hit some new low low over the weekend with the Maga Band, desperately trying to characterize this child who murdered Charlie Kirk as something other than one of them and does everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel’s comments came one day after both the FBI officials and Utah Prime Minister Spencer Cox said Robinson had a “leftist ideology” and became increasingly radicalized in recent years. It was also revealed that he had a romantic relationship with a transgender partner who was biologically male and switched to her.

Nexstar Media Group, which owns hundreds of television stations, earlier announced that it would prevent Kimmel’s show at its ABC -associated companies from Wednesday night “in the foreseeable future” and would replace it with other programming over his comments about Robinson.

Sinclair called for more action.

“Mr. Kimmel’s remarks were inappropriate and deeply insensitive at a critical moment for our country,” Sinclair President Jason Smith said in a statement. “We believe that TV stations have a responsibility to educate and raise respectful, constructive dialogue in our society. We appreciate FCC chairman Carr’s comments today, and this incident highlights the critical need for FCC to take immediate legislative actions to tackle control that has been held over local TV companies of the major national networks.”

Democratic legislators, actor Ben Stiller and others also criticized ABC.

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed last week while talking at an event at Utah Valley University. Thousands of people have taken care of his death in vigilance throughout the United States

Kirk’s funeral is ready for Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.
