My first urge was that today’s threads would be a search for DIRE Straits songs — but it was very short. Fortunately, this did not come through, not least because I could only think of three of their songs, and alone they would fill the whole game.
In the end, the theme did not really match the words we were looking for for me “serious alleys” denotes an extreme situation where your options have been driven, while our keywords describe a bunch that can be saved.
Still, I’ll take off. From my search in the upper left corner I discovered pickle and worked from there from there without getting me in much of a mud. I can’t imagine many found that this game was a situation.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
