Seven guards were injured when unknown attackers threw a grenade at the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senior leader Agha Shakil Ahmed Durrani and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Agha Shazeb Durrani, late Friday night in the Khuzdar’s do Talwar area.
According to SSP Khuzdar Shehzada Umar Abbas Babar, the striker threw the grenade on the outer wall of the house, causing an explosion that was felt in nearby buildings.
“This was a fair act aimed at disrupting peace in the area,” he said, adding that fortunately not losing life and that the wounded guards were only inflicted on less wounds.
Police said the striker riding a motorcycle managed to escape after the explosion. Security forces have since launched a search operation and additional staff have been deployed in the area.
SSP said that further investigations were underway using CCTV recordings and testimonies and promised, “We will soon arrest the guilty and postpone the elements behind them.”

The wounded guards were moved to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital, where officials confirmed that their condition was stable and they would soon be discharged.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned severely attacked and described it as an act of terror.
In a statement on social media platform x, he said such events “cannot weaken the decision of the people and political leadership.” He asked for the quick improvement of the wounded.
He instructed law enforcement authorities to conduct immediate investigations and bring the perpetrators of justice.
PPP -Leader Agha Shakil Ahmed Durrani, a former district mayor of Khuzdar, called the attack a conspiracy of political rivals. “We are the party’s party, and such attacks cannot scare us. Recovering peace in Balochistan is our priority,” he said.
The incident spread fear among the residents, but the authorities said timely action helped stabilize the situation. Officials added that Khuzdar has seen such attacks in the past and all resources were used to restore peace in the district.
