Hacks Season 5: Key Information
– Season 5 was confirmed by HBO on May 27, 2025
– At the Emmy Awards in September 2025, Hannan Einbinder mentioned that it would be the last series ever of the show: “Knowing it’s the last season is really bittersweet”
– The Series Showrunners Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky have not confirmed it definitively, but have said they “write against what ends in the fifth series”, but also added: “We get to see”

Hacks Season 5: Release Date
With the news from Einbinder that season 5 will probably be the last season ever HacksLet’s return a little back to May 2025 when the season was officially given the green light. Co -stars Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder both celebrated in a video sent to Instagram:
“I’m so excited,” Smart said. “Hacks just was officially picked up for season 5. I’m excited! Congratulations to my role crew and everyone in production. And to all of our hack fans out there, please join us again for season 5. Yay! “
Einbinder added: “It’s official. We’ll be back to Season 5, Baby! And calm, I’ll continue to beat the lesbian bow.”
About the same time, talk to DeadlinePaul W. Downs said he thinks the filming will start in the fall of 2025: “We have written, so behind the zoom fan is another tab. We are in the process.”
Then on 2025 Emmys Red Carpet referred Einbinder to Hacks season 5 as “the last season” in an interview with E!. She also confirmed that filming would start at the end of September 2025 and add: “I think it will feel different. We’re going to start next week, and knowing it’s the last season, is really bittersweet. But I think it’s right, you know? It’s nice to do something as many times as it needs to be done. Don’t overwrite your welcome.
Downs previously said that while season 5 would probably be the end of HacksIt wasn’t quite spicing up: “Right now we are still writing against what ends in the fifth season. But that being said, we have a lot of things we will do this season … There is always a world where it is more than the amount we can show in a year. Because we really like to have the show every year. But we are really in the middle of finding out.
When he was asked about Einbinder’s comments, HBO Max’s CEO CEAYY BLOYS said: “We usually leave it up to the creators, so I will wait to hear from them. But of course we have had conversations about it. In the end it will be their decision.”
There is no official release date for Hacks Season 5 yet, but like any other series has been released in April/May, maybe it is the month that the creators are aiming for, but it is still to be confirmed.

Hacks Season 5: Potential Plot
At the end of season 4 (spoilers ahead), Deborah, who ended her talk show, saw a loophole in her contract that made it possible to get back on stage – in Singapore, with her shows delivered by a translator – but then she was the victim of a death shoax. TMZ accidentally published an obituary whom they had prepared in advance, and after giving Ava the shock of her life, she confirmed – personally – that Deborah was actually still alive and kicked. And Deborah was crazy: She would go right back to America to make sure her legacy was not “the downfall to the late night -tv” when she promised, “I’m no quitter. We have some rewrites to do.”
Downs hinted at Deadline Where the next series could go to: “Much of our season 5 is going to be about [Deborah] A kind of reinvention of herself and rewriting her inheritance after she was blamed for the death in the evening. “

Downs have suggested that there may be a spin from from HacksAnd a series that would focus on Kayla.
