Rory McIlroy has never thrown himself away from the Recycle Bin during a Ryder Cup, and with the tournament on Bethpage Black this week he has started again.
McIlroy, who will play the lead role for Team Europe, aimed at a specific team of USA player – Bryson DeChambeau.
DeChambeau said earlier this summer he was looking forward to talking some smack to McIlroy at the Ryder Cup. McIlroy brushed it off.

“I think the only way he gets attention is by mentioning other people,” McIlroy told The Guardian in an interview this weekend. “It’s basically what I think about it. To get attention he will mention me or scottie [Scheffler] or others. “
The rivalry between McIlroy and Dechambeau grew since their showdown at Masters in April, with McIlroy won his first green jacket to end his career Grand Slam. During this round, McIlroy was paired with Defechambeau, who fought at Augusta National.

Afterwards, Dechambeau told journalists that he never spoke to McIlroy during the last round and found it strange. However, McIlroy saw it differently.
“I don’t want to try to be his best buddy out there,” he said at the PGA championship.
The feud reintroduced by 2024 the US Open, where Dechambeau prevailed after McIlroy’s last round collapse at Pinehurst No. 2.
McIlroy’s obvious resistance to Liv Golf, where Dechambeau now plays, has also given rise to excitement between the two stars.
It sets the stage for this week on Bethpage Black, where the Recycle Bin is expected both on the course and among the fans. The venue expects about 50,000 spectators a day during the three-day tournament.

Team USA fell to Team Europe, the last time Rivals met in Rome in 2023. After Europe’s 16½-10-10-victory, McIlroy declared that the team intends to win as visitors this time.
