- Snowflake and Salesforce launch the open semantic exchange
- Salesforce compares the initiative for Rosetta Stone of Business Data
- AI agents use more corporate software than people in 2030
In recognition of the increase in agent AI and shifted away from traditional dashboards and reports, Salesforce and Snowflake have joined forces with BlackRock, DBT Labs and RelationsAi to change things for the better when it comes to collaboration.
Together, the group launches Open Semantic Interchange (OSI), which Snowflake describes as a supplier neutral frame that allows different platforms to talk to each other in the same language.
The launch of OSI comes as companies are struggling with supplier locks that create silos and limit the potential for AI tools.
The open semantic exchange tackles the supplier’s lock-in
“With the open semantic exchange initiative, we are proud to lead the charge with our partners to solve a fundamental challenge for AI – the lack of a common semantic standard,” commented the Snowflake EVP for the product Christian Kleinerman.
The initiative’s central goal is to improve interoperability, reduce the complexity and increase the AI -adoption “by standardizing how semantics are defined and exchanged.”
It is also a future -proof initiative in more ways than one -Salesforce quoted Accenture Research, which predicts that AI agents will be the primary users of Enterprise software by 2030, ahead of people.
“These new intelligent workers are only as effective as the data they can access and understand,” explained Tableau Chief Product Officer Southard Jones.
In order to support two -way meta -meta -exchange exchange, OSI Data Metrics, dimensions, hierarchies and conditions.
Snowflake highlighted the five core principles of osi: standardization (common language and structure); interoperability (easy exchange between tools); enlargement (adaptable to the development of needs); Open Source (Collaborative Development); and domain -specific models (to combine data from different sources).
Jones compared the open semantic exchange with Rosetta Stone to Business Data: “By co-operating the open semantic exchange with snowflakes and our partners, we build the basis for each AI agent and bi-application need: a regular semantic framework that retains meaning across platforms.”
