Peacemaker Season 2 section 6 is out now – and it finally revealed a big VRI in the center of this season plot.
After a few episodes of spinning his tale wheels, HBO Max-Show’s latest chapter, entitled ‘Ignorance, Chris’, lifts the lid of what exactly Earth-2, alias the alternative reality Chris Smith continues to visit is really. And it confirms a greater fan theory that something was not right in this parallel world.
I can’t emphasize this enough: Full spoilers immediately follow for Peacemaker Season 2 section 6. Turn back now if you haven’t seen it yet.
Earth-X explained: What is the parallel universe in Peacemaker Season 2?
For weeks, fans have been convinced that EARTH-2 is DC universe (DCU) taking on Earth-X (more on this later). It’s actually a fan theory circulated online since Peacemaker Season 2 section 3 fell.
It turns out that viewers prescribed for this theory have been proven right. In the final minutes of ‘Ignorance is Chris’, DCU’s Emilia Harcourt, who traveled to Earth-2 with the rest of the 11th Street Kids to convince Chris Smith to return to Earth-1 with them, Chris asks if he has noticed anything unusual about Earth-2.
Confused he asks “Like what?”, As Harcourt replies that she has not seen a single color person in the short time she has been in this dimension. This is something that Harcourt originally picks up when she is driven to Argus by Chris’ brother Keith, who assumes she is the Earth-2 version of Harcourt.
In any case, when the couple prepares to leave Earth-2’s version of Argus, Chris discovers what seems to be a miniature America’s united states on an employee’s desk. When he picks it up and rolls it out, he is surprised to see that the iconic white stars of the flag are not present on the said flag, and in their place is a white swastika.
As this scenario plays out on Argus, another Peacemaker Character also teaches Earth-2 is full of white supremacists.
Leota Adebayo, the only non-white member of 11th Street Kids, decides to go for a walk while she and John Economos wait for Chris, Harcourt and Vigilante to return from their various escapades. When he waves a resident who drives past her, Adebayo is confused that the woman is staring at her in horror.
Moments later, the aforementioned woman pulls over, runs to a neighbor and begins furiously pointing to Adebayo. At the same time, Keith drives over in his truck and slams on the brakes when he also sees adebayo. Diving out of his vehicle, he screams “one came out! A black [woman]! ”.
Understandably, Adebayo’s confusion suddenly turns into fear as an angry group of white people run out of their homes and against her. Asebayo, screaming “What F ***!?”, Adebayo begins to run down the street, the bubble mob in hot pursuit.
The fascist Earth-2 is not a new idea that DC Studios Co-chief James Gunn-Han is the creator, lead author and occasional director of DCU Chapter One TV show-coming. As I mentioned earlier, Earth-2 is essentially a live-action quote by Earth-X.
For those who do not know this alternative reality: In DC Comics, Earth-X is a parallel world where Nazi Germany won World War II. First appeared in the ‘Justice League of America #107’ in October 1973, it revealed that World War II lasted for almost 30 years before the third Reich took near-the-total control of Planet Earth.
Without entering the complexity of the DC Comics story, part of Earth-X was merged with Earth-One, Earth-Two, Earth-Four and Earth-S during the culmination of ‘The Crisis’ Crisis on Infinite Earths’ History, which ran from May 1985 to April 1986. joined together to form a composite reality that allowed DC comics to reboot their literary their literary their literary.
Of course, this question raises: Will we see a similar event play out in one of the best HBO Max Shows’ second season? After all, DCU is already starting to dab with the multiverse Peacemaker and Gunn’s Superman film.
That said, I think it is more likely that our heroes will flee and permanently seal this parallel world or destroy it completely using the interdimensional portal unit that is in 11th Street Kids’ possession. With only two chapters to go, it’s not long before we find out what option they choose.
