Eight killed when bus collides with Iranian oil vehicle in Panjgur

At least eight people were burned to death and several others were injured when a passenger bus collided with a vehicle with Iranian oil at CPEC National Highway in Balochistan’s Panjgur District on Saturday.

According to police, the collision triggered a massive fire that shrouded both vehicles. The accident was originally reported to have claimed five lives, but the toll rose to six after one of the wounded bent under before moving to the hospital. Later, two more critically wounded victims died and raised the death toll to eight.

Rescue officials said the bodies and the wounded were immediately transported to Panjgur Teaching Hospital, where treatment of the survivors is underway. They confirmed that the on -site rescue operation has ended.

Police said an investigation has been launched in the incident, adding that “the overpowering of the overthrow is believed to be the primary cause of the crash.”

The tragedy has once again emphasized the severe road safety challenges in Balochistan, where worsening infrastructure and poorly maintained vehicles often lead to fatalities. Residents and officials have called on the administration to implement stricter security measures along the CPEC motorway to prevent such events.

Earlier in June, a tragic incident took at least six lives and left more than ten others wounded when a passenger bus suddenly fired near the western bypass of Quetta, the provincial capital Balochistan.

Rescue teams rushed to the place and moved the wounded to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out during the journey, causing panic and chaos among the passengers. Rescuers managed to save more people through fast action, but unfortunately six people bent for their injuries.
