PM Shehbaz orders timetable to increase beef exports to Malaysia

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Presidents a meeting via VideoLink from New York to discuss the improvement of trading conditions between Pakistan and Malaysia.

He highlighted the significant potential for growth in bilateral trade and noted that the government is actively taking practical measures to fully exploit these opportunities.

He instructed the relevant authorities to develop a viable and eligible plan specifically for exporting Pakistani beef to Malaysia. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated that PM Shehbaz was conducting the preparation and submission of a comprehensive roadmap with special emphasis on increasing Pakistani beef exports to Malaysia.

The meeting included an in -depth review of trade bands between Pakistan and Malaysia. The Prime Minister received a detailed orientation on Pakistan’s export capacity in the Malaysian market.

The Prime Minister said that “Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy deeply rooted, fraternal connections that span several decades. He noted that Malaysia has always supported Pakistan in times of need, and Pakistan has this support to a great extent.”

In October 2024, Pakistan and Malaysia held bilateral conversations, and both leaders announced that Pakistan would export halal meat worth $ 200 million annually along with $ 100,000 tonnes of Basmati -Ris to Malaysia.
