- More a UI 8.5 -Features are leaked
- Upgrades to the Camera app are jerked
- Network change could be easier
The important UI 8 update (based on Android 16) continues to roll out to older Galaxy phones, but a UI 8.5 is already talking about -and new leaks give us a better idea of three useful features that the software upgrade can bring.
As discovered by @achour_hm (via sammyguru), it looks like the updated camera app will bring more video advances to the interface. This means that you can quickly switch between looking like blockbuster and thriller with an on -screen iron.
Another feature has been discovered by @Laidbackdev_ (again via sammyguru). In this case, there are text strings referring to 3D, VR and spatial media inside the camera app, suggesting more upcoming functionality – maybe 3D photo and video recording.
Spatial photos and videos can be recorded by the latest iPhones, but you need an Apple Vision Pro headset to see them properly. With Samsung’s own AR/VR headset in Pipeline, perhaps this function update is related.
Intelligent network

Yet another potential a UI 8.5 feature has been found by the Sammyguru team: It seems that the software will switch between cellular and Wi-Fi connection more trouble-free and straightforward for users.
This is done via two switching switches, intelligent link assessment and intelligent network switch, which will utilize AI to decide whether your phone should be connected to cellular networks or an available Wi-Fi network.
This may depend on factors such as security and speed of the Wi-Fi network and whether you have connected a particular Wi-Fi network before. In theory, the user experience must be improved and less manual switching required.
All of these features are subject to of course change, and it is not yet clear when a UI 8.5 may be made official or start rolling out. It may well appear in January with the Samsung Galaxy S26 hand set we expect.
