- EnergyBook Pro Ultra packages a 192Wh battery, the largest ever mounted on a laptop
- Avenir Telecom claims up to 28 hours of use and one week in standby
- At 192WH, the laptop unfortunately exceeds aviation limits for carrying batteries
Energizer, better known for batteries and smartphones, launches a new laptop that puts endurance in front of everything else.
Energybook Pro Ultra comes with a 192Wh lithium polymer monobloc, which the company says is the largest battery ever built into a laptop.
Avenir Telecom, the French company designing and manufacturing Energzer-Branded-Hardware, claims that the new laptop can last up to 28 hours of regular office work, or about 11 hours of games and graphics-heavy tasks. In standby mode, it can reportedly go for a whole week without having to be charged.
It just doesn’t fly
“With the Energienbook Pro Ultra, we push the limits of what laptops look like. It’s full of power, battery life and durability – true for Energiz’s DNA,” noted Julien Galou, leader of Marketing at Avenir Telecom.
The company is in shape when it comes to packing large batteries on devices – by 2024 it rolled the hard box P28K sturdy smartphone with a huge 28,000 mAh battery promising a talk time of 122 hours (about five days) and a standby time of 2,253 hours or just over three months.
The battery aside are the specifications of EnergyBook Pro Ultra-Laptop Computer Otherwise definitely mid-row.
The system has an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 16GB RAM, a 512 GB NVME SSD and an 18-inch Full HD+ Display.
Connection includes USB-C, HDMI, USB 3.0, SD card castle and a headphone jack.
The laptop will sell for € 449 ($ 523) before tax. No word about when or where it will be available.
However, a detail can limit its audience. Aviation Safety Rules limits Lithium-ion batteries on flights to 100W in carrying luggage, with some carriers that allow up to 160Wh with special approval.
In 192WH, EnergyBook Pro Ultra exceeds both boundaries, making it unlikely to be allowed on most commercial flights (some airlines may not control, but it is worth paying attention).
EnergyBook Pro Ultra is part of a wider line that also includes 15- and 18-inch models with smaller batteries.
With Ultra’s record -breaking size, Energizer has created a laptop that could fight to live up to its promise of mobility.
