Karachi: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday issued its forecast, which predicted light for moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in the metropolis today.

Met Office has predicted cloudy weather in the city over the next 24 hours with chances of light for moderate rain in scattered places.

The maximum temperature is expected to vary between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, while the humidity levels in the city are currently standing at 65%, with light winds blowing from the southeast.

PMD has also seen that a well -marked low pressure system lying above Gujarat, India, can be intensified to a tropical cyclone after The news reported.

According to PMD’s Tropical Cyclone Warning Center in Karachi, the low-pressure system is expected to move west-northwest and could strengthen a depression when it enters the Arabian Sea near India’s Saurashtra region.

While officials clarified that there is currently no direct threat to Pakistan’s coastal belt, they warned that the system is closely monitored for possible development.

The National Weather forecast in Islamabad said that humid streams from the Arabian Sea are already entering the southeast Sindh, which brings widespread rain, thunderstorms and gusty wind to Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Matiari, Togalah Muhammad Khan and Jamshoro from September 29 to October 2nd.

Isolated moderate to heavy rain is probably in Tharparkar, Umerkot and Mirpurkhas during the period.

Earlier this month, Karachi witnessed heavy rainfall from September 8 to 10, leaving large cuts of the city immersed, rivers that were crowded, and hundreds of residents stack.

Metropolis once again received light rain and stains of rain on September 16.
