Pakistan is facing deficiency of 900K nurses

Islamabad:

Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said Pakistan is facing a shortage of nearly 900,000 nurses when he announced the complete digitization of Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).

The Minister of Health was chairman of a meeting on PNC’s affairs, participated by the federal health secretary and further secretary.

During the session, the ministry announced to fully digitization of PNC to ensure efficiency, profits and transparency in all its operations.

When he spoke to the apartment, Kamal emphasized that all affairs in the Council will soon become a computer computer to minimize human intervention and eliminate inefficiencies.

“We want to restore the nursing profession’s lost credibility and transform Pakistan Nursing Council into a modern, effective and internationally recognized institution,” he said.

The Minister emphasized the important role that a nurse in Pakistan’s health system and highlighted the urgent lack of nursing personnel. Pakistan is currently facing a deficit of almost 900,000 nurses, while a lack of qualified nurses globally is approx. 2.5 million.

He confirmed the government’s obligation to strengthen the nursing sector through extensive reforms, robust policies and modern digital systems.

He also noted that nursing is one of the most critical columns in the health sector and bold steps are taken to bring the profession in accordance with international standards.
