- Amazon reveals new four TV 4K SELECT Streaming Stick for $ 39.99
- It also updated its TV-line-up, including a new ‘flagship’ omni qled
- Alexa+ comes to multiple devices with smarter voice control
Amazon has just announced a package of new four TVs plus a new cheaper 4K four TV stick, called four TV 4K Select.
Let’s start with four TV 4K Select, which Amazon says is “the fastest 4K -stick under $ 40” – specifically it costs $ 39.99. It is very similar to the current four TV sticks, but there is something new inside: Vega us.
This is Amazon’s own new operating system for its four TV sticks and echo devices, and Amazon says it is “very responsive with a super-efficient footprint” and was important to create a responsive and smooth streaming stick at this low price.
It will support Alexa+ and Amazon demoed how to ask Alexa+ about the statistics of a baseball game and it will not only tell them, but it can take you directly to the relevant highlight.
Similarly, you can ask it for a specific scene in a movie and it can jump you right there – Amazon says it has indexed tens of thousands of scenes across thousands of movies and works on TV shows next. You can also ask it for information about actors in a scene or ask it for recommendations based on nuanced requests.
Amazon says it has the big streaming services on board the new Vega OS, and highlighted support from all the following during the event or in its press release (although there are some notable omissions, such as Mubi or Shudder):
- YouTube
- Prime Video (Duh)
- Peacock
- FUBO
- Slinging TV
- Directv
- Hulu
- Tubi
- Espn
- Paramount+
- Plex
- Disney+
- Starz
- HBO MAX
- Pluto
- BBC
- Xbox
- Apple TV+ (not mentioned on stage but it’s in product pictures)
- Amazon Luna (not a surprise but not mentioned on stage)
Amazon also announced an updated row TVs in three offers: the cheapest Amazon Four TV 2 series TVs, Step-up Amazon Four TV 4 Series TVs and Amazon Omni QLED series.
Amazon says the omni TV is its “new flagship”, which suggests that the impressive Amazon four TV omni mini-led will disappear from line-up.
All of these TVs will include Amazon’s omnisense tech, which allows the TV to turn on as you enter a room and turn off as you leave it, and a new dialogue increase to make it easier to understand what’s going on.
The 2 Series comes in 32-inch and 40 inch sizes starting from $ 159. They are only HD models (not 4K) and have a chipset that is 30% faster than before, to make them more responsive.
The 4 Series comes in 43-inch, 50-inch and 55 inch sizes and starts from $ 329. These are all 4K models and have again 30% faster chipset.
The new OMNI QLED TV comes in 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch sizes starting from $ 479. It has a chip that is 40% faster for smoother operation, promising to be 60% lighter than the previous model, with almost twice as many dampening zones, for better contrast.
It includes Dolby Vision and HDR10+ adaptive support, with automatic image adjustments based on the surrounding light levels. There is no mention of whether it supports 120Hz 4K games, just as the omni-mini-led model does.
The new OMNI QLED model is also “built for Alexa+”, but there is no mention of the Alexa+ 2-series and 4-series. Amazon also added that Alexa+ also comes to some brand -TV from Hisense and Panasonic.
You can pre -order the new models today and they will send “next month”.
