PMD warns of drier north, warmer season ahead

Islamabad:

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that the monsoon in June-August usually brought to over-Normal rainfall over most parts of the country, with almost 10 large rain-bearing systems leading to serious flooding in northern and eastern regions.

However, the upcoming season is expected to bring a contrast pattern.

According to PMD, probably under-Normal rainfall is probably in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and the northern Punjab, while almost normal rainfall is expected for Sindh, southern Balochistan and southern Punjab, conditions that are expected to keep the overall situation stable.
