- Pexars Starlight is a digital photo frame with a wall light
- The full HD 15.6-inch Touch screen is color calibrated with an anti-glare finish
- There are 64 GB of internal storage, plus photos can be uploaded externally
Lexar was better known for external drives and memory cards, and was a new name in digital photo frames as it launched its sub-mark Pexar and delivered the amazing 11-inch digital picture frame in 2024 (it is now resident in our best Photo Frames Guide). Now Pexar has expanded its range with an innovative new addition.
Not only is Pexar Starlight larger with a full HD 15.6-inch touch screen, but it delivers an industry-first: wall lighting. You can check out the pictures below to get an idea of what the frame looks like in daylight with its anti-glare finish plus in a dingier environment where it really comes alive with its gallery lighting.
Looks means something with digital photo frames – both the quality of the display and the finish on the frame. Starlight looks top-tier with wooden grain finish, canvas-like matting and unique wall lighting.
There are several ways to upload images to the frame (JPEG / PNG / Webp or Heic Stills, MP4 or 3GP videos): through memory cards, flash drives or wirelessly using the Companion app that works externally everywhere.
There are also 64 GB of built -in storage, which is enough for 80,000 1920x1080p images. The frame can be wall mounted or rested on a sideboard using the smooth metal stand in either vertical or horizontal format.
Still worth it?
In a way, digital photo frames can feel old hat considering how most people look at photos on their phones these days. However, I have gifted one for my parents, and I know how much they appreciate it, especially the occasional new photos that emerge on the framework of their grandchildren, uploaded remotely by me, several hours drive away.
A high quality digital frame can really let your photos shine, especially one as a 15-inch Starlight. That said, I personally think screen size is a slightly awkward middle ground: a little too small for a wall and a little too big for a coffee table. Still, I expect Pexar Starlight to be a hit, especially for the Christmas holidays.
Pexar Starlight will be sold on November 6, 2025, and there is currently an early bird discount of $ 100 for those who register interest at this link. I do not have us / British or Australia pricing at the time of writing, but expect it to be more expensive than the 11-inch frame that can be purchased for $ 180 / £ 150. I update this article when I get the details.
Come back for my full review of the frame, which is also in the pipeline-if Pexar 11-inch frame is something to pass by, I expect good things.
