HRCP requires enforcement of the bill on minority rights

Lahore:

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed deep concern about the extraordinary delay in the enforcement of the National Commission for Minority Rights Bill and called on the government to implement it without further delay in ensuring the protection of the fundamental rights of minorities.

In an open letter addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari and federal law minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, HRCP chairman Asad Iqbal Butt noted that the bill was passed by parliament on May 12, 2025 and forwarded to the president’s consent.
