Riley Gaines announced the birth of her first child, a daughter named Margot, Thursday night.
Gaines announced the birth in a post on social media and showed her to keep the baby with her husband, Louis Barker.
“There is nothing that could have prepared me for a love like this. God has blessed us without faith. Welcome to the world, Sweet Margot,” Gaines wrote in the headline.

During her pregnancy, Gaines swam 1.25 mile to the notorious Alcatraz prison with US Navy Seals, fighting veterans and her husband back in July. She was 31 weeks pregnant at the time.

Gaines announced his pregnancy in June during a turning point US event in Texas. The message came as she turned to comments from the Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles, who suggested Gaines were the size of “a male” under a social media that spit over the issue of Trans athletes in women’s sports.

“How many men do you know who have this,” Gaines said on stage when she showed her shock and shared sonograms on stage.
