AJK ACTION COMMITTEE MATTERS DONE, AGIVITING TO BE SIGNED SARTURE: TARIQ FAZAL CHAUDHRY

Negotiations between Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and the federal government have finally borne fruit, with key affairs decided and a final agreement expected to be signed soon.

Parliamentary Minister and Member of the Government’s Negotiation Team, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, confirmed the development of a post on X that expressed optimism about a solution.

“Cases have been settled with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The final agreement is expected to be signed soon. The last round of negotiations is underway. Public interest and peace are our priorities,” said Chaudhry.

Previously, Chaudhry had announced that the second round of the negotiations between the government’s delegation – sent to Muzaffarabad about the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif – and JaAC representatives were underway.

He said the government was firmly behind Kashmiri’s rights and noted that most of their demands, especially those in general interest, had already been accepted. “The remaining few demands that require constitutional changes are under discussion,” he added.

The Minister emphasized that violence was not a solution to any problem and expressed hope that Jaac would continue to pursue his goals through peaceful dialogue.

The government’s negotiating team consisted of federal ministers Rana Sanaullah, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Yousuf, Amir Muqam and Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, along with Pakistan -folk’s party -leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and former AJK president Sardar Masood Khan.

The official negotiating committee for the AJK government also participated in the negotiations. The Jaac delegation was represented by Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Raja Amjad Advocate and Anjum Zaman.
