Queen Camilla has just released a statement full of emotions and reminds after the death of one of her close friends, lady Jilly Cooper.
The statement has been shared to the Royal Family’s Instagram account and includes a black and white image of the author, under which is the words, “I was so sad to learn about Dame Jilly’s death last night.”
The personal message from the Queen also included Rosord and Reader, “Very few writers become a legend in their own lifetime, but Jilly was someone who created a whole new genre of literature and made it his own through a career spanning five decades.”
“Personally, she was a wonderful witty and compassionate friend for me and so many – and it was a special pleasure to see her just a few weeks ago at my queen’s reading room festival, where she was always a star in the show,” she even said.
As a result “I join my husband the king to send our thoughts and sympathy to her whole family,” she said with her closing words. “And must hers in the following be filled with impossible beautiful men and devoted dogs. Camilla R.”
For those who are not dared, the author died on Sunday after suffering a fall.
Since the news of her death came out, even her agent, Felicity Blunt, has spoken out and said, “The privilege of my career has worked with a woman who has defined culture, writing and conversation since she was first published over 50 years ago.”
“You wouldn’t expect books that are categorized as Bonkbusters, so emphatically stood the test of the time, but Jilly wrote with sharpness and insight on all things – class, sex, marriage, rivalry, grief and fertility.”
As well as her children, Felix and Emily who according to Sky News Australia have said, “Mother was the shining light in all our lives. Her love for her whole family and friends knew no boundaries.”
