Arizona Cardinal’s head coach Jonathan Gannon was seen on the sidelines that ripped back Emari Demercado after a larger boom cost the team late in their loss against Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The third year that ran back thought he had broken free to a 76-yard touchdown race that would have given Arizona a 21-point lead late in the fourth quarter. It may have been invincible and Touchdown could have averted any chance of a Titan’s comeback.

Instead, Demercado fell the ball before reaching the finish line. The ball jumped out of the back of the final zone, resulting in a touchback and turnover.

An animated Gannon was later stained to enter Demercado’s face, while offensive Lineman Paris Johnson Jr. tried to comfort his teammate.

Gannon called the slurric of offense “unacceptable” after the game and was asked what he told Demercado after Fumble.

“It’s never about a theater piece. We have coaching points that I won’t tell you now,” he said.

Arizona’s second bomber took place when they were up nine points with 4:55 to go. It looked like Cardinals got the game-sealing eavesdropping when DAVRION Taylor-Demerson drew a tilted Cam Ward Pass while Tennessee was in the red zone. But Taylor-Demerson tumbled to the ground and lost the ball.

From there it was pinball when several cardinals players tried to restore fumble, but the ball managed to rice his way into the final zone where the titans recipient Tyler Lockett secured it. It was controlled a touchdown because the ball remained live even with the boots from the Cardinals players

The result was now 21-19, and Cardinals had the opportunity to still save a win despite the terrible mistakes. But after Titans’ defense forced a point, Ward had time to get downfield and maybe allow Kicker Joey Slye the chance of victory.

That’s exactly what he did when he found Calvin Ridley on a 38-yard strike to put the titans on Cardinals ’15 -yard line. An 11-yard race from driving Tony Pollard back secured a chip-shot field goal chance and Slye buried the 29-yarder on the buzzer for the unlikely victory.

“Obviously, very disappointing. (It) felt we had more chances to remove the game in all three stages, and we didn’t, so we have to do a better job,” Gannon said. “It feels like it’s now three games in a row that I’m saying the same thing, but until we do a better job we’ll continue to lose.

“(It’s never about a spectacle. (It’s never about a phase. All of us collectively have to do a better job, so that’s what we want to work on tomorrow. Our sense of urgent and our affiliation is always there. It is obvious to rise because time has been ticking.”
